Quick Smiles:

  • LeBron James sets an unprecedented milestone by scoring 50,000 combined points in NBA regular season and playoffs.
  • James achieved this feat with a three-pointer during a Lakers’ victory over the Pelicans.
  • Despite his age, LeBron continues to dominate, averaging impressive stats and earning player of the month honors.

LeBron James, the legendary basketball player, has reached a monumental milestone by becoming the first in NBA history to score a total of 50,000 points across all games, both regular season and playoffs.

This remarkable feat was achieved with a three-pointer in the first quarter during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 136-115 triumph over the New Orleans Pelicans, where James contributed 34 points.

“I mean, that’s a lot of points,” James expressed, reflecting on his journey from a young boy with a passion for basketball to an icon playing at the highest level.

He continued to share, “Obviously, the first thing that comes to mind is where I’m from… I’ve been able to do that and really enjoy my career. So it’s definitely an honor. It’s pretty cool to see that.”

LeBron’s career, spanning 22 seasons, has seen him surpass other basketball greats, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who scored 44,149 points over 20 seasons.

Though 50,000 points is a new personal milestone, LeBron had already secured his position as the NBA’s all-time highest scorer across regular season and playoffs.

During the game, the Lakers’ stadium announcer highlighted the historic moment during a time-out, prompting a standing ovation from the crowd, which James graciously acknowledged.

Looking ahead, LeBron is on the cusp of another record: all-time games played. If he continues for another season, he could surpass Robert Parish’s record of 1,611 games.

Even at 41, should he return for a 23rd season, James’ performance remains top-notch. His stats from February, averaging 29.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, earned him the NBA’s Western Conference player of the month.

LeBron also holds the record for the most player of the month awards, with 41 to his name.

James has participated in 287 postseason games, the highest in NBA history, and he became the league’s career playoff scoring leader back in 2017.

His consistency is legendary, having scored at least 10 points in every game since January 2007, spanning 1,278 consecutive games.

This achievement is a testament to LeBron’s enduring excellence and his ability to inspire basketball fans worldwide.
