Chance the Rapper hosts a 1,500-meal holiday giveaway for his birthday

Chance the Rapper is celebrating his birthday!

On Saturday, the “Holy” musician held a food distribution through his non-profit SocialWorks to commemorate his 29th birthday.

Chance posted a video of the event on Instagram and wrote:

“Happening now Chicago! Holiday Meal Giveaway 8560 S. Cottage Grove. 1,500 free meals for the community.”

The video shows volunteers and individuals in cars as they share food. Chance’s Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor “Mint Chocolate Chance” is also featured in the post.

Chance also shared wonderful childhood photos of himself with his mother, Lisa Bennett, and brother, Taylor Bennett, in addition to his work with the Holiday Meal Giveaway.

In the caption, he added:

“He’s 29. Best gift u can get me is showing someone they’re a child of God today.” (“Child of God” is also the title of his new single.)

Chance and his wife Kirsten Corley Bennett have two kids, Marli, two, and Kensli, six.

While attending the 2021 Met Gala in New York City, the pair spoke to PEOPLE about finally having a child-free date night.

“[It’s] amazing,” Chance told PEOPLE, while Kirsten exclaimed, “I miss them!”

“I miss them [too],” Chance said, “just in case they look at this interview in 20 years!”
