  • Two rescued tabby cats, Lilly and Lucy, take over their owner’s day with demands for cuddles.
  • The adorable sister bond between the cats has captivated millions on social media.
  • Experts confirm that cats do form genuine bonds with their humans and each other.

A woman from the Netherlands, Zina Schijven, had grand plans for a productive day, but her two tabby cats, Lilly and Lucy, had a different agenda in mind.

These furry companions decided it was the perfect time for cuddles, and Zina happily obliged.

In a TikTok video shared in September under the username @lillylucysisters, Zina is seen in bed, enveloped by her peacefully sleeping kitties.

The video, with its overlay text, humorously captures the scene: “I was going to be productive, but then my cats decided it was cuddle time.”

The caption playfully questions, “I mean could you say no to this cuteness??”

Lilly and Lucy, both four months old, were once strays, rescued by a local shelter and placed with a foster family.

Zina discovered them online and immediately knew she had to “become their mom.”

“They are very lovely and affectionate, especially with each other,” she shared.

“They almost never leave each other’s side. While eating, sleeping, playing, grooming, they do everything together. It’s super cute!”

Their affection isn’t limited to each other; they shower Zina with love, eagerly greeting her with demands for affection whenever she returns home.

“Of course, they also like their own space sometimes or will let me know when I cross their boundaries; for example, if I kiss them too much,” Zina explained.

Despite common misconceptions about feline aloofness, experts affirm that cats do indeed form strong bonds with their owners.

Dr. Jess Kirk, a licensed veterinarian, notes that the relationship cats have with their humans transcends mere dependency.

Signs of feline affection include purring, head-butting, kneading, and trailing their owner around the house.

Zina sees Lilly and Lucy as more than just pets; they are cherished members of her family.

“It’s so special to witness the sister bond they have and how they take care of each other,” she said.

“They will sleep in the most cute positions and, every time, I melt seeing them hugging and kissing each other.”

While not all cats get along, siblings like Lilly and Lucy often form unbreakable bonds, making their adoption together crucial for their happiness.

Dr. Ellen Lindell and Dr. Lynn Buzhardt emphasize that bonded pairs thrive when adopted together, offering each other comfort and companionship.
