Quick Smiles:

  • Cristiam Ramos transforms discarded jeans into remarkable art pieces.
  • His portraits feature celebrities and animals with detailed, textured expression.
  • Every work is distinctive, created from countless tiny denim fabric pieces.

Orlando-based artist Cristiam Ramos brings new life to old jeans by crafting intricate portraits using small fabric squares.

Each portrait takes about a month to finish and highlights figures like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, and majestic animals.

“Each piece takes me about a month depending on the size and complexity of the portrait,” said the Mexican artist.

He works steadily, dedicating eight hours daily to these one-of-a-kind creations, with each selling for up to $15,000.

“Each piece will always be different from the other and my collectors will always have a unique piece.”

Cristiam started using denim four years ago, inspired by a beloved old pair of jeans from his youth.

“At that moment, I realized that denim carries life inside its fibers: memories, moments and the strength of time itself.”

He believes denim is a symbol of resilience and celebrates its beauty in every piece.

“No matter how worn out we feel, we always have the power to transform ourselves into something beautiful.”
