When a sudden downpour hit Logan, south of Brisbane, postman Gurpreet Singh noticed sheets left drying outside during his delivery round.

Instead of walking by, he quickly took the laundry down and placed it under cover, ensuring it stayed dry while the homeowner was away.

“I thought I was coming home to find my wash soaking wet but NO,” wrote Verrity Wandel, who shared the uplifting footage on social media.

Her video soon captivated thousands, turning Singh’s thoughtful gesture into an online sensation.

Wandel recalled her astonishment, saying, “I just had visions of my washing being wrapped round and round the line, or embedded in the garden, and I drove in and there was no washing on the line. And I thought, that’s odd.”

For Singh, it was all in a day’s work, mentioning the task took him only “one minute.”
