Quick Smiles:

  • Seventeen-year-old Josh Pache found $3,500 and returned it right away.
  • His honesty inspired a grateful reward and a job offer from the cash’s owner.
  • The community rallied to help Josh reach his dream of buying a pickup truck.

Josh Pache, a teenager from the Gold Coast, is being celebrated for his remarkable integrity after discovering $3,500 outside a local gas station and turning it in without hesitation.

The lost money belonged to Daniel McKellar, who realized it was missing after a stop for coffee and was relieved when he learned it had already been safely returned.

“I freaked out,” Daniel shared with News.com.au.

Thanks to a viral community effort, Daniel was able to identify Josh and later expressed deep appreciation for his exemplary behavior.

“For him to just not hesitate, take it straight to the counter, and not even leave his name — it’s pretty remarkable,” Daniel said.

To thank Josh, Daniel rewarded him $1,000 and offered him a job at Coastal Demolitions following school graduation.

Josh’s mother, Leanne, remarked that she hopes her son recognizes the value of good actions.
