Blake Shelton Brings 6-Yr-Old Fan, Who Is Waiting For A Heart Transplant, Onstage! [Video]

Six-year-old Wyatt McKee has been on the transplant list for more than a year. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. By the time he was 6 months old, he’d already had two surgeries.

Wyatt’s favorite country star is Blake Shelton. His mom, Harley McKee, says the whole family listens to Blake’s music all the time. Wyatt’s favorite song is “God’s Country.” Blake’s music keeps his spirits up.

“He just came home one day and just kept yelling to play ‘God’s Country, God’s Country,’ and for a couple of years now, anytime we get in the car, we got to play God’s Country all the time,” Harley recalled.

When a family friend learned how much Wyatt loves Blake. He gifted them a pair of tickets to Blake’s upcoming show in Oklahoma. Harley helped Wyatt make two signs to hold up during the concert.

The first sign read: “Your smallest, biggest fan from Lake Texoma, 6 years old waiting on a heart transplant.” The second sign asked if he could sing “God’s Country” with Blake.

Blake spotted the sign during the concert and immediately invited Wyatt up on stage! Reading the first sign, Blake commented, “Think y’all are having a bad day? Put that in perspective right there, man.”

Blake and his band then played “God’s Country,” and Wyatt got to sing along!

“Oh, I mean, I cried,” said Harley. “He got to do something that he really really loved and really wanted to do. It’s a pretty big deal.”

Blake and Wyatt sounded great, and the crowd showed their support by cheering wildly for the brave little guy. Blake hugged Wyatt and finished the song on his own, but it’s definitely an experience the little kid will never forget!

Later, Harley shared a video of the duet online. “I don’t know if Blake Shelton will ever see this but I just want to let him know he is awesome and officially my favorite person he absolutely made Wyatt’s day thank you so much to him and everyone who stopped us to tell him how great he was on stage and told him they are praying for him!!!” she wrote.

Blake did see the video, replying by tweet, “This little buddy made my night. Thank you for singing ‘God’s Country’ with me Wyatt!”
