In April 2023, Kaci Wilson was pulling into the driveway with her three sons when a truck plowed into her minivan. Tragically, her 4-year-old Myles Godfrey suffered a traumatic brain injury and passed away.

Kaci decided to donate her son’s organs in the hopes of saving another life. Myles’ heart went to a little boy named Saleh Ahmad.

In May 2025, Kaci married Gavin Wilson, and Saleh came as a surprise guest. Before the ceremony, the 7-year-old’s parents asked if Kaci would like to listen to her son’s heartbeat with the stethoscope they brought.

“It was just so heartwarming,” Kaci shared.

“It definitely was the closest I felt to him since the accident.”

Photos from the ceremony show many emotions from the bride, groom, and the heart recipient. Saleh Ahmad stood on one side of Kaci and her father on the other to walk her down the aisle.

“The little boy was crying happy tears. He was smiling, he was giving all the hugs and kisses,” the bride recalled.

“We were sad, but we were happy, seeing how well the little boy is doing.”

Kaci’s childhood friend, Brianna Hemphill, served as the couple’s photographer and caught all the special moments.

“She was reunited with her son in another loving mother’s son through a simple heartbeat. The groom realizing who this sweet boy was, and knowing the grief of his new wife’s heart but choosing to love her anyway!” Brianna shared.

“So beautiful and heartfelt story, I am in tears,” a follower commented.

Others simply expressed gratitude. “Thank you for these pictures,” someone wrote.

Kaci said she knew Myles would want to help Saleh Ahmad.

“I realized, ‘Of course he would want to save another person,’” she explained.

“He was the most kind-hearted, sweet, loving, little boy. So of course he would want to save somebody else if he could.”
