  • Created by over 30 artists, it took 99,000 hours and 25,000 bulbs to bring this spectacle to life.

Britain is aglow this season as more than 2,000 lanterns illuminate a mile of Twycross Zoo in Warwickshire, dazzling thousands of visitors since mid-November. Guests are transported along a colorful journey through rainforests, ocean scenes, and wild habitats thanks to beautifully hand-crafted and hand-painted lanterns.

Ten immersive displays depict animals from the icy tundra to the African savanna, and even feature a giant Mount Rushmore-inspired installation with bison and moose nearby. A whimsical life-sized Gruffalo also delights children and fans of the classic book character.

This magical experience required the creativity of over 30 Chinese artists, utilizing 25,000 bulbs and 70,000 meters of strip lights for a truly unique attraction. “The craftsmanship is outstanding,” shared Jamie Turner, marketing director at Twycross Zoo.

“Every lantern is a work of art.”

The illuminated trail stands out as Britain’s largest—and perhaps its most enchanting—holiday lights display, promising visitors memories filled with joy and wonder.
