Cute Food Delivery Thief Caught In The Act

• Food delivery was left on the porch as the owner made space in their refrigerator.
• A passing wild opossum helped himself to the delicious food.
• The food owner manages to snap photos of the adorable food thief.

Even humans will be tempted from mouthwatering odors wafting from a food delivery left on a porch, right? How much more a passing wild opossum looking for free food?

This is what happened when an opossum happened to take a whiff of freshly delivered food packages on Gretchen Dust’s porch. Gretchen was not able to catch the thief but managed to snap adorable photos of the bandit before it went away. But after it stuffed itself full.

“Nothing was salvaged, of course. But it was worth it, all for the laughs!” Gretchen said.

Mealtimes can be tiring to prepare and so, to avoid stress, Gretchen decided on having regular orders of prepared food to her house.  Aside from it being convenient, dinner has also been enjoyable for the family.

When this particular meal was delivered, Gretchen made space for the box in their fridge.  But left the packages first on the porch.  She was not expecting anyone or in this case, any animal having first dibs at the food.

When she went back to get it, Gretchen said, “Low and behold, the chubby buddy had broken into the box and was helping himself to our order. It was a complete and total surprise.”

Gretchen said that based on the “porch pirate’s” appearance, he was rather an unusual thief because he did not look bedraggled, thin, and unfed.  He was a plump possum and knew his way around the full-packed box.

Gretchen said that the adorable freebooter was obviously well-fed or opportunistic and ate as much as he could.

And when the possum sensed that it was about to get busted by the one who paid for it, he decided to run for it.

Gretchen was just lucky that he got to shoot evidence of the food raider before it took off.

While the family had to wait for another meal due to a possum food mugger, they bear err… possum no ill feelings.
