Thyago Costa Silva, a professional cyclist, was on a training ride in Brazil with a friend when they spotted something on the road.

Someone had dug a hole and abandoned five tiny puppies! It was a remote and far place, so Thyago thought they were left there to fend for themselves.

He and his friend first offered the puppies water from their bottles. He said that the poor puppies were very weak and “dying from thirst and hunger.” They just wanted to survive.

The cyclists decided to take them home with them.

With nowhere to put them in, they put the puppies in their shirts and rode the 12-mile journey home.

Thyago said that it became a “very emotional” journey.

Thyago took the puppies home and took care of them, helping them regain their strength so they can be ready for adoption.

He spread the word about the puppies’ story.

It wasn’t long before all of the puppies found their forever homes!

“They were all adopted by good people who love animals, Thank God,” Thyago shared.

Thyago’s heart broke when he saw the poor puppies abandoned by the roadside. But thanks to their encounter, the puppies now have a second chance at life. And their futures are definitely a lot brighter!

“They will have a better life. I’m sure they will be well taken care of,” Thyago shared. “This makes me so happy.”

Thank you, Thyago, for saving them and ensuring they have a better future with their new families.
