French authorities are making headway after arresting two suspects following the daring theft of eight precious crown jewels from the Louvre Museum in Paris.

One man was detained at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport while preparing to depart the country, according to Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau.

“The wrongdoers who took these gems won’t earn 88 million euros if they had the very bad idea of disassembling these jewels,” Beccuau said in a recent interview. “We can perhaps hope that they’ll think about this and won’t destroy these jewels without rhyme or reason.”
