  • Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie shared memorable stories from summer camp experiences.
  • Both celebrated newfound moments of quiet and personal growth while their kids were away.
  • Savannah and Jenna noticed surprising changes in their families with children at camp.

This summer brought fresh perspectives for Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie as their children headed off to sleepaway camps. Jenna, mom to Mila, Poppy, and Hal, found joy observing her son flourish as an only child, while Savannah treasured rare quiet time with her husband during their kids’ camp adventure.

“Both of our kids went to sleepaway camp for three weeks. No kids, no nothing. It was amazing and so quiet,” Savannah shared, describing her peaceful evenings with her husband and the return to routines from their dating days.

Jenna noticed her youngest, Hal, blossoming without his sisters at home. “He loved being an only child. And he actually was so well-behaved,” Jenna explained with delight, noting her daughter Mila’s funny reflection, “Maybe we’re the problem.” Jenna said this encouraged her to see her family dynamic in a new light.

Savannah hoped her children’s brief reunions at camp would strengthen their bond, but laughed, “It didn’t work. But they love each other.” These experiences left both moms feeling grateful for the surprising growth and connection that summer brought.

Every day can bring small transformations if we keep an open heart—may your week be filled with little joys and new perspectives, too!
