- Maggie was so grateful for being adopted that she immediately showered her new dad with hugs and kisses.
- Her new parents, Mary and Mark McCraw, had lost their previous dog, Mischka, months before.
- They took the beam of sunshine seen in the video of their meeting as a sign of Mischka smiling from above.
Maggie’s early life was filled with heartache. Her former owners used her for breeding and neglected her. Thankfully, she was rescued and paired with a foster family who gave her love and helped her regain her strength.

Her healing was complete months later, and she was finally ready to find her forever family.
It wasn’t long before a meet and greet was scheduled by Halfway There Rescue.
A few months before the meeting, Mary and Mark McCraw had just lost their rescue dog Mischka to cancer. They thought they weren’t ready for a new dog just yet, and expected a simple meet and greet.
But Maggie’s charm melted their hearts!

Mark shared, βI bent down so she would not be intimidated, and within seconds she was in my lap and in my life. Her story broke our hearts. Meeting her was love at first sight, it was an instant connection. We feel like she was meant to be with us.β
When Maggie’s foster parent, Andra Mack, saw how the meeting with the McCraws went, she knew they were the perfect match.
Andra shared, βShe became one of the sweetest dogs we have ever fostered. The moment that Maggie met her new dad, my husband and I just looked at each other β because we knew. It was like a movie.β

Andra added, βThe beam of sunshine that is clear in the video makes me believe that their former dog, Mischka, was looking down on that meeting and smiling.β
The McCraws truly believe that meeting and adopting Maggie changed their lives for the better.

Mark shared, βMaggie brings joy to everyone she meets and continually makes our life better. Looking into those eyes just makes the world a better place.β

It’s more fun being around animals, then most people!
