  • Taylor Swift’s hospital visit inspires fans to donate generously to children’s medical funds.
  • Swift’s personal interactions with young patients lead to a surge in GoFundMe contributions.
  • Donations in Swift’s favorite increments of 13 help fund critical treatments.

Taylor Swift, known for her record-breaking Eras tour, recently took a break from the spotlight to bring joy to young patients at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Florida. Wearing a sage-green dress, she visited children battling severe illnesses, including cancer and cardiomyopathy, spreading cheer and smiles.

On June 12th, Shaneka Holloman, the mother of 7-year-old Majesty, was surprised by an unexpected phone call. Her daughter, a transplant recipient and survivor of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, was invited to a special “function.”

“ She touched her hair to make sure Taylor was real,” Holloman recounted. “I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know what to do. This is Taylor Swift, America’s sweetheart.”

Majesty spent 15 unforgettable minutes with Swift, even asking for her phone number. The encounter quickly went viral on “swifty” social media, leading to a flood of donations to Majesty’s GoFundMe for her treatment, which has now exceeded $16,000.

The “Swift bump” didn’t stop there. Two other young patients, Aaliyah and Zoe, also benefited. Aaliyah, a two-year-old battling brain cancer, received a Swift-autographed concert booklet. Her mother, Crystal Mortensen, attempted to sell it online for $500, but a fan insisted they keep it.

Donations poured in, many in increments of 13—Swift’s favorite number—raising nearly $60,000 towards Aaliyah’s $100,000 treatment goal.

Zoe, a 10-year-old facing neuroblastoma, saw her GoFundMe swell to $23,000 after Swift’s visit. Dr. Jill Whitehouse, the chief of surgery, praised Swift’s kindness.

“Undeniably one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting,” Dr. Whitehouse shared in a GoFundMe note. “Thank you #taylorswift for making dreams come true for all of our patients, families, and staff today!”

Taylor Swift’s visit not only brightened the day for these children but also galvanized her fans to support their medical journeys, showcasing the power of kindness and community.
