Blind Dog And His Support Cat Adopted Together Because Of Their Special Bond [Video]
- A blind dog named Spike and his support cat, Max, was surrendered at the Saving Grace Animal Society in Alberta, Canada.
- The two have been together all their lives that it is important for the two to be adopted as a pair.
- The shelter is proud to announce that the bonded pair has been adopted and are on their way to Manitoba to their forever home.
We have all heard of the fight between cats and dogs. But this one definitely proves the animosity between the two species wrong. Instead, they work and cooperate to keep their bond strong as ever and they have each other through thick and thin.
Meet a blind dog and his seeing-eye catMax and Spike are a bonded pair that don’t let a little difference like species get in the way. Spike, who is blind, relies on Max for love, cuddles, and a little navigation help from time to time. As soon as both are in good health, they’ll be up for adoption — sadly, they’re not in Nova Scotia — as long as they can go to a home together.Posted by CBC Nova Scotia on Monday, 8 February 2021
Spike the dog and Max the cat are a bonded pair. When they were surrounded to the Saving Grace Animal Society in Alberta, Canada, the staff learned that the two had lived their lives outdoors. And their bond must have started when they huddled together to share warmth to fend off the cold.
They are both 8 years old and have lived together ever since. Spike is blind and Max has been his support cat all these years.
Amanda McClughan of the shelter said that Max does not lead Spike everywhere but supports him in everything. She added that, “Max just provides a level of comfort and support for him. He can smell him, he can feel him, and so it’s kind of a way to bring his stress and his anxiety down.”
On the shelter’s Facebook page, they wrote that the two are up for adoption as a pair. They have known each other all their life that each cannot live without the other. They said that Spike is a “happy go lucky boy” who “loves life” while “Max is the yin to his yang”.
And within 11 days, the shelter was happy to announce that the inseparable duo is on their way to Manitoba to their new forever home!
We wish you all the best, Spike and Max!
