A delightful feline from New York has captured the hearts of internet users with his unconventional lounging pose. Sir George, a two-and-a-half-year-old Ragdoll cat, was filmed by his owner, Laura, in a position that left viewers in stitches.

In a TikTok video shared in November by the username @sirgeorgetheragdoll, Sir George is seen lounging on a windowsill. His belly is up, and his back is against the glass, resembling a Thanksgiving turkey.

“When you don’t have to shop for thanksgiving because you already have a juicy turkey at home,” reads the text overlay in the clip.

Laura shared, “He loves classical music, chicken, cuddling, watching documentaries about lions and leopards, and sleeping with his fluffy belly exposed.”

“He’s a really social and friendly guy that likes meeting new people and lives for attention and praise.”

Sir George’s charm is undeniable, with Laura noting, “He’s got a big heart and a big personality. He looks much larger than he actually is because he is so fluffy!”

Cats are renowned for their agility and ability to contort into various positions effortlessly. This is due to their unique bone structure, which allows them to twist and turn unlike any other animal.

Dr. Jess Kirk from Vet Explains Pets explains that a cat’s flexible spine, which contains 53 vertebrae—20 more than humans—grants them an extraordinary range of motion.

Their collarbone’s unique attachment allows for greater shoulder mobility, enhancing their flexibility.

Cats also possess powerful and elastic muscles, paired with an exceptional sense of balance and spatial orientation.

Common cat sitting positions include the loaf, frog pose, half loaf, sphinx, and shoulder sit, each signaling different states of comfort and alertness.

If your cat assumes a loaf position, it indicates comfort in their surroundings. A frog pose suggests relaxation and playfulness.

The half loaf position shows relaxation with a hint of alertness, while the sphinx position signals readiness to pounce. A shoulder sit signifies trust and affection towards you.
