After dropping off their son at college, Donald and Maria Nunney of Cleveland, Ohio, were involved in a car accident while traveling with their two younger children.

The couple, both beloved elementary school educators, were on their way to meet their son for lunch when the accident occurred.

Their children, a 14-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son, are now in stable condition and expected to recover.

Donald Nunney taught language arts at Joseph M. Gallagher School, while Maria Nunney was an educator at Wilbur Wright PreK-8 School.

Schools within their district began classes just days after the event, with extra support made available for students and staff.

“Our heart is with them at this very tragic moment.”

Cleveland’s community is coming together with additional resources and heartfelt support in honor of Donald and Maria Nunney’s legacy.
