Amy Schumer is feeling optimistic as she recovers from a recent spinal surgery. She shared an encouraging Instagram photo, smiling behind a walker and dressed comfortably.

“Since my surfing injury back in the day my L5 has been killing me,” she said. “Today I got a laminectomy! It’s a short recovery and when I’m feeling better I will buy a bra!”

Earlier, Schumer brought laughter from her hospital bed, sharing a selfie and joking, “Overheard post back surgery ‘pickle ball keeps this place in business.’”

The procedure she underwent, called a laminectomy, relieves pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, often after other treatments haven’t helped.

These spinal issues can come from arthritis, aging, or genetics and may result in pain, numbness, or weakness.

Schumer has always been open about her health, previously discussing conditions such as Cushing syndrome. She revealed that her diagnosis followed medications for her breast reduction and C-section scars.

She has also been candid about trying different treatments, including Ozempic and Mounjaro, to navigate her ongoing wellness journey.
