Artist creates magical miniature versions of iconic film sets [Video]

Artist Bridget McCarty has created several miniature versions of film sets that magically look exactly like the original ones.

Some of her works feature iconic sets from Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park. Each dollhouse-sized set can take her up to a month to complete, but the results are definitely amazing.

Bridget, who is from Los Angeles, California, said that her grandmother used to collect miniature items from her travels.

Her grandma displayed them on shelves, but she wasn’t allowed to touch the delicate items as a child.

“Knowing I couldn’t touch them made me more obsessed with them,” she shared.

So she started creating her own miniature pieces as a hobby while she studied.

She said, “Creating miniatures can really take you away to another world. My ideas can be found everywhere—from my favorite TV shows to theme parks.

She then set up a small online shop and started showcasing her work on conventions.

Her hobby ended up becoming her full-time job when the demand for her masterpieces steadily increased!

Also trained in animation art, Bridget said that seeing her pieces get bought by other artists motivated her to keep it going.

Her sets are usually made in wooden boxes with dimensions of about 50cm or less.

They usually depict film sets, but can also showcase other things such as bath products or “anything you can imagine.”

She would then have the sets fitted with tiny electrical wiring to light them up.

Her most iconic pieces include Monica’s flat in Friends. This set is easily recognizable, but the little details she added, such as these dishes with mac and cheese, are quite charming.

She also recreated the Flourish and Blotts bookshop from the Harry Potter series.

Bridget also painstakingly recreated this tiny, incredibly detailed comic book shop.

Bridget has no plans on stopping. She is definitely loving her work, and her pieces are only becoming more and more popular.
