  • TikTok was a baby monkey kept as a pet living alone in a birdcage.
  • The RSPCA rescued him and he was soon taken by Monkey World to give him the proper care he needed.
  • TikTok is now safe and happy with his new loving parents, Clydie and Ronnie.

TikTok, a tiny baby monkey, was living alone in a birdcage while being kept as a pet in Essex, England.

Fortunately, the RSPCA was called to check on his situation, and TikTok was finally set free with a family who would take care of him.

TikTok was too young to be away from his parents. Like any other monkeys, he shouldn’t be kept as pets.

“Primates are intelligent, sentient and highly social animals with complex needs that simply cannot be met in a domestic environment,” Jack Taylor, an inspector with the RSPCA, said in a press release.

Things have gone in favor of TikTok, and he surely deserved it. The RSPCA was able to secure an agreement to have TikTok under their care. Soon, he was taken in by Monkey World, a rescue that would be able to give him all the proper care he was deprived of.

The rescue examined him and learned that the tiny baby monkey was only five or six months old, weighing only 0.2 pounds.

TikTok was introduced to Clydie and Ronnie, who were also rescued from unfortunate situations. They would be the perfect parents for TikTok as they understood what TikTok had gone through.

Upon seeing his new mom, TikTok immediately jumped up onto her back — looking ecstatic to finally have a family of his own.

“Clydie instantly adopted him as her own, carrying, grooming and protecting little TikTok,” Monkey World wrote in a press release.

The new family of three looked so happy together, a clear proof that monkeys should not be sold as pets.

“Tiktok’s case perfectly highlights why primates should not be available to the public and why they do not belong in people’s homes,” Jack said. “This youngster has been wrenched away from his family to be sold as a novelty pet to someone who doesn’t know and who hasn’t got a hope of being able to give him what he needs. It’s a situation that just shouldn’t happen.”

Now, TikTok has nothing to worry about. He’s finally happy and safe with his doting parents, exploring a home much bigger and better than a birdcage.

We hope this will also be the case for all the monkeys out there.
