Camouflaged Visitor Gives Woman a Fright

• A woman was given a fright one day when she spotted a camouflaged visitor in her dining room.
• A black cat had blended well with her black dining chair.
• It turns out that the cat, named Tinkerbell, belonged to the neighbors.

Claire Trenery was preparing a cup of tea one day when a perfectly camouflaged visitor gave her a fright in the dining room.

“She was sitting completely still,” Claire told The Dodo. “I only noticed her as I put the tea down and caught sight of her eyes, at which point I jumped out of my skin!”

Claire doesn’t own a cat.

The black cat had perfectly blended with Claire’s black dining chair, and “seemed unperturbed” by Claire’s shock.

“She carried on sitting there, without moving,” Claire recalled. “She did kind of look like she was expecting a three-course meal.”

But after waiting to be served at the table for 20 long minutes, the cat gave up and instead “took herself on a tour of the house.”

It turns out that the cat, named Tinkerbell, belongs to one of Claire’s neighbors.

Claire is already familiar with Tinkerbell, but this was the first time that she came inside and made herself at home.

Claire thinks that she may have gotten in through her open patio door.

She shared, “I always say hi to her when I see her in the garden. All the neighbors love her ’cause she’s such a character.”

Tinkerbell eventually wandered back to her own home.

She may have given Claire a fright at first, but she will always be welcome to visit.

Claire said, “I’d possibly appreciate some kind of greeting next time she comes in the house though, just to spare my nerves. But she is very welcome.”
