  • Flynn, a Bernese mountain dog/Newfoundland mix, has grown to about 110 pounds now, but he’s still a scaredy-cat.
  • Thankfully, he has found some comfort in his fuzzy blankies, which he takes everywhere he goes.
  • Flynn may be scared of everything, but he still makes sure to also serve as a comfy blanket for his family whenever they feel down.

Flynn may have grown into a big dog, but he’s still scared of a lot of things. Thankfully, he has his mom and his favorite blankies to ease his fears for him.

His mom, Shauna Halstad, lists all the things he hates and fears: the dark; bags; boxes; their toothless, clawless rescue cat, and pretty much his own shadow.

About more than a year ago, Shauna got a fuzzy blankie at the dollar store to be used for cleaning Flynn’s paws.

But the pup thought the fuzzy thing was for cuddling!

Since then, he has been carrying his fuzzy blankies with him everywhere he goes.

Flynn, a Bernese mountain dog/Newfoundland mix, is about 110 pounds now, but he still insists on taking his blankies everywhere, even when out for a walk.

“I had to go back and buy more, said Shauna. “He grabs it as soon as he wakes up and drags it all over the house and backyard.”

The fuzziness of the blankies has given Flynn so much comfort, helping him face his many fears.

Flynn may be a lot bigger than most of the things and creatures he encounters, but he still depends on his trusty blankies to get him through it all.

“He protests having to walk without his blanket. He likes to hoard them into a pile,” Shauna shared.

Flynn may be a scaredy-cat, but he is always there for his family wherever they need some comfort.

Just as Flynn depends on his blankies to ease his worries, Flynn is also his family’s soft blanket — to cuddle with when they’re feeling low.

“He is an old soul in a puppy body,” Shauna shared. “He’s taught us all to slow down and enjoy the moment — especially the puppy cuddles.”

Flynn has been a source of joy for his family, and they’re all happy that he has found something that brings him comfort, too.

“Life is definitely not boring with him around,” said Shauna.
