Ed Kelce Shares Joyful Details of Son’s Engagement

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged, delighting fans with photos from their flower-filled proposal and a cheerful announcement.

The couple kept additional details private, but Taylor’s followers couldn’t help but look for clues in every sign, from polished nails to timing.

Ed Kelce revealed to ABC News 5 Cleveland that Travis proposed about two weeks ago, slightly earlier than he originally planned.

“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off ‘til this week,” he shared, joking, “I think she was getting maybe a little antsy.”

He explained Travis wanted a big moment, but Ed encouraged him that any place could be special.

“And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event,” Ed said.

The joyful moment took place in a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, just before the couple was heading out for dinner.

“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed Kelce recalled. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”

Ed Kelce mentioned that he had anticipated the proposal as the two showed how much they cared for each other throughout the past year.

He also shared a sweet moment from the week before, saying, “about a week ago,” he asked Travis when the news would be public. “He said, ‘Whenever Taylor says so.’”
