Foo Fighters’ frontman, Dave Grohl, cooks for charity [Video]

  • Grohl cooked brisket, pork butt, ribs and more for Hope the Mission’s Trebek Center on Feb. 22, and also volunteered the next day to help serve the meals.
  • Grohl’s volunteer work was praised by the nonprofit organization’s CEO, who said “he has nothing but love and respect for Grohl.”

Dave Grohl, the lead singer of the Foo Fighters, recently volunteered at a Los Angeles shelter to help feed hundreds of homeless people. He spent over 24 hours in the kitchen prepping and cooking meat for Hope the Mission’s Trebek Center. Grohl also served meals to the guests and took pictures with them.

According to Grace Ancheta, the Director of Development at Hope the Mission, Grohl “wanted no glory for it, he was like, ‘I just want to do this for you guys and give back in that way’.”


The CEO of the nonprofit organization, Rowan Vansleve, expressed his admiration for Grohl’s generosity, saying “he has nothing but love and respect for Grohl.”
