Honest Teen Finds Cash and Inspires Kindness

Josh Pache, a 17-year-old from Australia’s Gold Coast, spotted $3,500 on the ground outside Fox’s Pantry and quickly handed the lost money to the staff. The owner, Daniel McKellar, discovered the loss after leaving the convenience store and was amazed to learn it had been returned so swiftly.

Unable to identify Josh at first, McKellar sought help through Instagram, and soon the young man’s mother reached out. He offered Josh a $1,000 reward and a job at his demolition company, and even launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Josh reach his goal of buying a pickup truck.

“It’s pretty rare to find the younger generation having a good moral compass and obviously knowing what to do, being the right thing to hand in the money,”

Mr. McKellar told news.com.au.

The fundraiser has now raised over $10,000, nearly achieving its target. Additionally, McKellar donated his remaining $2,500 to another GoFundMe for a brain surgery patient, wanting to pay the kindness forward.

“I was never expecting the money back, I thought once I lost it … I was expecting someone to have taken it,”

he explained. “I definitely had not expectation to get it back, so in my mind it was already gone.”
