But surrounded by his loving family, he found hope and determination. “Ive been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” James shared at the time. “Theres reason for optimism, and Im feeling good.”

James recently spoke about his health journey, highlighting the empathy and awareness of his children. “They can sense that Dads having a tough day. They know if Dads in pain. They know, and so by not telling them I think youre confusing them even more.” He encouraged others to be open, adding, “Just allow yourself to be surprised by their resiliency. When you tell them what youre doing, and you tell them the approach, they can see it and they can feel it, and I think its also your journey is their journey.”
