After suffering a crash during the downhill final at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Lindsey Vonn is marking a meaningful step in her recovery journey by finally returning to the United States.

The Olympic skier shared updates on Feb. 17, posting a heartfelt video montage of her trip from an Italian hospital back to U.S. soil.

“Haven’t stood on my feet in over a week… been in a hospital bed immobile since my race. And although I’m not yet able to stand, being back on home soil feels amazing,” she shared on X.

Vonn also extended gratitude to the Italian caregivers who supported her after her accident on Feb. 8, when she crashed just seconds into her race and was airlifted from the course.

Since the crash, she has undergone multiple surgeries to mend a complex leg fracture and continues to progress on her healing journey.

“Thankful to all of the medical staff who helped me get home 🙏🏻❤️ and seriously looking forward to my next surgery when I can get the X-fix out of my leg and will be able to move more,” Vonn expressed on Instagram.

She acknowledged the challenges ahead but is embracing the journey with hope, promising more updates for her fans.

Vonn reaffirmed her positive outlook, saying she has “no regrets” about competing and described standing at the starting gate as an unforgettable experience.
