Meet Alex: The Lamb Who Loves Napping in Human Arms

Quick Smiles:
- Alex the lamb has become an internet star for his love of napping in human arms.
- His journey from a three-day-old lamb to a three-month-old has captivated viewers.
- Alex’s owner shares his adorable napping moments on TikTok, delighting fans worldwide.
Nestled in the heart of New Zealand, a family farm has become the backdrop for a delightful story that has captured the hearts of many. At the center of this tale is Alex, a lamb with a penchant for napping in the arms of his human companions.
Alex’s journey to internet fame began with a video shared on TikTok by his owner, under the username @the_chrispy_crew. The video, posted on March 4, has already amassed 1.5 million views. It features a three-day-old Alex, blissfully asleep in his owner’s arms, basking in the warm sunshine.
The clip humorously notes, “Me thinking Alex would grow out of the contact napping stage after a couple of days.”
However, Alex had other plans. The video transitions into a montage showing Alex at various stages of growth, each time comfortably snoozing in a human embrace. At one week old, he is seen resting on someone’s chest, and by two weeks, he is cozily nestled in a barn.
As Alex grows, so does his love for napping. By three weeks, he’s noticeably larger but still finds comfort sleeping on his owner’s shoulder. At one month, he stretches across her entire body, enjoying a nap while she sits in a field.
At two months, Alex is sprawled across her, fast asleep, while curious lambs approach, seemingly intrigued by the peaceful scene. The video concludes with a three-month-old Alex, content in his owner’s protective arms.
The caption reads, “The sleepiest lamb to ever exist.”
TikTok users have embraced Alex’s story, with one user affectionately calling the owner “Mary,” a nod to the nursery rhyme. Another user humorously declared, “That is your child.”
Comments poured in, with one person exclaiming, “Okay I need a lamb now I guess,” while another inquired, “Where does one acquire a sleepy lamby?”
Alex’s owner explained in the comments that her farm specializes in breeding purebred Southdowns sheep. Alex was born later than the other lambs that season, giving her ample time to bond with him.
In New Zealand, lambing season typically occurs between August and October, due to the unique climate.
The TikTok channel is a treasure trove of charming videos, showcasing not only baby lambs frolicking in the fields but also mature sheep and rams at championships and shows.
