  • Peabody was abandoned by his mother because of his small size — he’s smaller than most dogs and only weighs 19 pounds at 6 weeks old.
  • He was then adopted by miniature horse trainer Faith, which helped get most of his medical issues resolved.
  • Peabody has settled in quite nicely with his human mother and French bulldog siblings.

Peabody was born too small that he couldn’t nurse from his mother, who eventually abandoned him. But thanks to a miniature horse trainer who didn’t give up on him, he has found love with his new family.

At six weeks old, the miniature horse weighs only 19 pounds and is smaller than most dogs.

Miniature horse trainer Faith San Severino told SWNS, “Peabody is the smallest horse in the world at his age.”

She said, “Horses are never indoor animals, but Peabody is so small that he could never live outside unless he gets bigger, and we’re not sure if he will. At present, he lives inside the house with the dogs.”

Faith saved Peabody from being euthanized. When she met him, he had a misaligned jaw and couldn’t walk, which made his previous owners think that he was blind and deaf. He would not survive on his own, but Faith knew he deserved a full life.

Faith drove across the country to adopt Peabody. With her help, Peabody’s issues were slowly resolved. His head grew and his jaw aligned.

His eyesight was also fine, and while he is deaf, he has learned to walk.

Faith said that she’ll keep him “forever.” She does hope that he gets a lot bigger so he can mingle with other horses. For now, he’s a “house horse.”

Peabody was initially anxious when he first arrived at his new home, particularly around Faith’s three French bulldogs.

“In the beginning, he was really in survival mode. He was just too scared for love,” she recalled. “But he gets along with the dogs now.”

“Now that he knows where his next meal is coming from, he’s starting to play with the dogs more and has let his guard down,” she continued. “He’s thinking now maybe he’ll be cared for in a way that he’ll survive.”
