  • A golden retriever puppy and a rescue cat form an inseparable bond.
  • Their playful antics, including a funny headlock, delight viewers online.
  • The duo’s adventures have garnered over 100,000 likes on TikTok.

It seems that a golden retriever puppy named Tig has found his perfect match in a feisty feline named Squeaks. In a viral TikTok video, the pair’s playful antics have captured the hearts of many, with Squeaks finding himself in a firm headlock courtesy of his canine companion.

“My husband Gary heard the two wrestling in our dining room, and he went to investigate because they are always up to something,” shared Wendy Gouin, the animals’ owner.

In the video, Gary can be heard asking, “What’s going on?” as he tries to coax Tig into releasing Squeaks. But Tig, ever the mischievous pup, attempts to conceal Squeaks’ head with his own.

This dynamic duo is no stranger to such antics. Wendy explained, “Recently, Squeaks has started knocking things off our tables and we end up chasing Tig around the house to get said item out of his mouth.”

Their bond is undeniable. “They are inseparable!” Wendy added. “They sleep together, play, wrestle, and even eat together.”

The two have become such a fixture in the Gouin household that Wendy joked, “We jokingly say we need to get an animal backpack for Squeaks so Tig can wear it when we walk.”

Squeaks, a resilient little cat, had a tough start in life, having been found in a field at just two weeks old. “He is a survivor!” Wendy noted, which might explain his tolerance for Tig’s playful nature.

The video has sparked a wave of comments and laughter online. One TikTok user remarked, “Cat is like, mind your own business.” Another chimed in with, “We all know the cat started it.”

“I don’t think Squeaks minds at all. I love how Tig puts his head down saying ‘let what go — I don’t know what you’re talking about,’” commented another viewer.

While not all cats and dogs get along, some cats are naturally more confident around dogs. Experts advise pet owners to supervise interactions if their pets show signs of discomfort.
