  • Engine fails months later, but dealer offers a solution beyond the warranty.
  • Dealer’s kindness inspires thousands online and boosts community trust.

When a mom bought a car for her college student from Northtowne Auto Group near Kansas City, she didn’t expect an act of extraordinary service months later.

After the engine died just 2,000 miles beyond the short warranty, the dealer’s owner, J.P. Knudsen, promised to make things right.

“But, I’m gonna take care of the customer.”

J.P. invited her to the dealership to select another car for the same investment, prioritizing people over policies.

His compassionate response, shared in a viral TikTok video, gained widespread appreciation and thousands of supportive comments.

“Nope. Not at Northtowne, not with J.P…I take care of my people. Thirty-two years in the business. It’s just what we do.”

J.P. believes, “That’s what we’re supposed to do in this world is take care of people.”
