Later on, he was diagnosed with Jansen’s metaphyseal chondrodysplasia (JMC), a rare degenerative disease. There are only 30 cases of this disorder documented worldwide, and Levi is one of them. His condition is characterized by the weakening of his skeletal structure.

Kids with JMC often struggle with the stiffening and swelling of their joints. They have a short stature and a waddling gait that make it hard for them to move around. All these cause Levi to frequent the hospital.

It could be a disheartening situation for little Levi, but nurses like Rachel make it fun for him. Rachel knew how hard the journey is for the little boy, and so she wanted to bring some cheer to bring a smile to Levi’s face.

In one of his rehab sessions at AI duPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, Rachel handed him a Nerf gun and told him to get ready for a battle.

And the next thing that happened was the hospital’s cutest encounter!

The journey has surely been extra challenging for Levi, but he has always managed to keep a positive attitude and carry so much love in his heart.

Like Rachel, anyone can bring in some cheer for Levi. Cards, letters or donations can be sent to
