Owner Finds A Cute Way To Stop Her Dog From Squeezing Through Fence [Video]

  • Lu-Seal, a once overweight Chihuahua who had difficulty in moving around, has become fit and active when she was adopted.
  • Lu-Seal reached her ideal size, which made it easy for her to squeeze through the fence to go across her neighbor for some treats.
  • Her mom Julia Morley attached a “safety spoon” to her back, which hilariously worked to stop her from passing through!

Nothing can stop a persistent dog running after treats, until this happened.

Lu-Seal, a once overweight Chihuahua, has reached her ideal weight for her size and age when she was adopted by Julia Morley. Prior to adoption, nine-year-old dog was weighing 16 pounds which gave her a hard time walking.

“I put her on a healthy diet and walked her as much as she could tolerate, and the pounds fell off,” Julia told The Dodo. “Now she’s a healthy weight and doing great.”

For three years now, Lu-Seal has been very active. Everything about her weight loss was working in favor of her and her mom, until Julia had a new fence installed around the house.

“It never occurred to me that she would fit through the bars of the fence when I picked it out, but it became clear as soon as it was installed that it was going to be a problem,” Julia said.

Ever since she’s gotten a treat from her neighbor Eddie, little Lu-Seal has been on constantly lookout for him. Julia never thought that the fence would be an accomplice to Lu-Seal’s breaking out. (It was either the gaps in between the fence are wide enough for her to fit in or Lu-Seal is small enough to pass through it — well, the latter sounds more apt.)

So, Julia shared about the pup’s sneaking out on Lu-Seal’s Instagram, and one of the followers suggested a hilarious solution: place a “safety spoon” on the pup’s back, which Julia tried — ending up as pretty hilarious!

“I attached it to her harness with Velcro cable ties and it worked like a charm,” Julia said. “We only used it as a temporary solution. The landscaper came back a week later and installed puppy guards on the fence.”

“I think Lu-Seal was so committed to getting through that fence that she didn’t even notice the spoon on her back,” the fur mom added. “It didn’t seem to bother her at all and it certainly didn’t change her conviction that her attempts were eventually going to work.”

Julia made sure that the solution to her conundrum would be much safer for Lu-Seal than the spoon idea. She had puppy guards installed on her fence in no time, but nothing has changed in Lu-Seal’s eagerness for her cookie fix from Eddie. This time, though, instead of squeezing herself in the bars of the fence to go across the neighbor, Lu-Seal would wait for her mom to bring her to Eddie.

“Lu-Seal is just unfailingly optimistic. She has a permanent smile on her face, and nothing seems to keep her down,” her mom said, proud of her little baby Chihuahua.
