Quick Smiles:

  • 20,000 pounds of apples given to New Yorkers in Midtown
  • Farmlink collaborates to fight food insecurity and waste
  • Additional apples donated to local food banks and families

New Yorkers are invited to enjoy a joyful apple-filled event in Midtown, transforming city life with a pop-up orchard experience. The partnership between Farmlink Project and 260 Sample Sale brings 20,000 pounds of locally sourced apples, alongside hot cider and community spirit, to Manhattan for one festive day.

This initiative not only offers tasty treats but also raises awareness about how redirecting surplus food helps families nationwide. Farmlink is distributing an extra 15,000 pounds of apples to food banks across Harlem, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, expanding the impact even further.

“Every day, tons of fresh, healthy food goes to waste while families go hungry,” said Eliza Blank, CEO of The Farmlink Project. “With the government shutdown disrupting food assistance, Farmlink is stepping up to close the gap—showing how simple it can be to turn surplus into sustenance.”

Carhartt will also be present with special Carhartt x Farmlink merchandise, with all proceeds supporting Farmlink’s ongoing mission. Building on past successes, this event is another milestone toward their goal of delivering 10 million pounds of food by Thanksgiving.

Bring a friend and celebrate the power of kindness and community, all while enjoying fresh apples in the heart of the city!
