Pup comforts random stranger sad over his dog’s passing [Video]

• Nato is a big-hearted pup, who typically bonds with people quickly.
• In his recent park visit with his dad, Dan McPierson, Nato seemed to sense that the old man across him was sad — and he was right.
• The man just lost his dog, but Nato cheered him up, and that made his day!

Nato, a warm-hearted Rottweiler, makes the world a better place, one tail wag at a time.

In one of their recent park visits, Nato’s dad, Dan McPierson, noticed an older man sitting alone on a nearby bench facing Nato.

“As soon as the man sat down, Nato locked eyes with him,” Dan told The Dodo. “Nato responded positively, but I could see the guy was sad.”

Nato seemed to sense it, too. His instinct likely told him that if the man had a choice, he would have enjoyed the park with a companion. So, the pup took the chance and asked his dad for permission if he could approach the man, to which Dan agreed.

True enough, Dan learned later on that the man was really sad as he lost his dog recently.

“After I took the video, the man told me he had a girl dog who was just like Nato in her ways,” Dan said. “Suddenly, I remembered we had seen him before with that dog. He told me that he had lost her recently, and that it gave him such a good feeling being able to pet Nato.”

The fur dad was very proud of Nato for being sensitive towards others’ feelings, friends or strangers, and for brightening up someone’s day in his little ways. And Dan is used to it. For him who has a sweet and thoughtful dog, witnessing how Nato comforts anyone is just an ordinary affair.

“It’s so normal for him to bond quickly with people that I’m used to it, but I still get surprised. Especially when people cry and tell me their stories,” Dan said. “We are blessed with this happening to us often.”
