An eight-year-old girl impressed those who were in attendance at the Junior Olympic Championship held early this month.

Natalie performed a solo in the first-ever AWD (Athletes with Disabilities) division.

What made the event even more inspiring is that Natalie was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bone disease. It is a condition that causes bones to break easily.

The incurable disease caused Natalie to have suffered over 40 broken and fractured bones since birth. But, the disease did not break her spirit.

Swimming is this little girl’s escape. It’s the one thing that lets her feel strong and free. When Natalie’s in the water doing what she loves most, she forgets about being fragile.

Swimming helps strengthen Natalie’s muscles, but it also hones her determination.

In the water, “She can do things she could never dream of doing on land,” her dad Joe said.

That leads to Natalie performing a solo in the first-ever AWD (athletes with disabilities) division of the Junior Olympic Championship!

Natalie performed her solo with “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s “Moana.” A perfect song because her performance and tenacity prove she is truly limitless!
