  • A surveyor was going about his routine of measuring the land when a dog ran ahead of a flock of sheep.
  • The dog seemed to be telling the man something he didn’t understand, until he realized that the sheep had stopped moving.
  • After moving out of the way, he watched in awe as the dog continued to lead the sheep on their way.

Surveyor Mati Lillo has had a regular routine for the past few weeks taking topographical measurements of the land and plotting maps. He thought he was about to have “another ordinary day,” when suddenly, he noticed a flock of sheep in the distance.

They were all being led by a determined dog!

The adorable dog was not big in size, but he held all the characteristics of being the group’s leader, guide, and protector.

Mati observed, “Obviously, he is a very skillful pup.”

As he watched the scene unfold with amusement, he wondered why the dog started gesturing in front of him.

“I could not understand it, until I saw that the sheep did not advance, then I understood,” Mati explained in the video’s text overlay.

It appeared that the flock was wary to advance as a stranger blocked their path — and the dog was politely gesturing toward him in a way that seemed to ask him to move out of the way!

Mati was all the more impressed by the shepherd dog’s ability to lead the flock and communicate with someone blocking their way. So, he was more than happy to move.

He even apologized for standing in the way! That was certainly the polite thing to do after the dog just as politely asked him to move.

Mati shared, “My mom taught me to treat animals well and love them in all their forms. Animals express themselves, same as people. It’s up to us to understand and appreciate that.”

As the video ended, Mati basked in the scene. The text overlay read, “How beautiful the south is.”
