Any relationship involves sticking with each other through good times and bad times. Everyone needs company when they are feeling down — and a sweet hug from a friend or loved one is definitely welcome! Even the simple act of being present is enough to make someone’s day just a bit better.

Take for example Dash the English Mastiff and his 3-year-old human brother, Peyton. They’ve been the best of friends and have been inseparable.

Whenever any one of them is in low spirits, they keep each other company as much as they can.

The sweet brothers have long been taking turns consoling each other.

So when Peyton was given a timeout, Dash made sure he wasn’t alone.

Peyton’s mom, Jillian Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, said that Peyton had a moment of anger and hit his 5-year-old sister Ryleigh, so Jillian had to separate them.

She asked Peyton if he would rather go to his room or get a timeout, and he chose the timeout.

When she saw how Dash kept him company, she happened to have her phone with her and was able to take the precious photo.

Thousands of social media users loved the photo and found the pair’s friendship touching.

Shirley Stoner, an artist from California, loved the photo so much that she turned it into a painting and sent it to the Smiths.

Jillian shared, “I adore the picture, definitely something I will treasure forever.”

We can’t wait to see more of these precious moments between the two sweet brothers.
