Homero Flores, a dedicated driver for H-E-B, has reached a milestone that many can only dream of: four million miles driven without a single accident or traffic incident.

This accomplishment was announced by the supermarket chain on Monday, marking a significant moment in Flores’ career.

After completing a routine delivery from Kingsville to Corpus Christi, Flores was met with a heartening surprise.

His loved ones, fellow truckers, and company leaders gathered to celebrate his extraordinary feat.

Flores expressed his gratitude, saying,

“I’m honestly overwhelmed by everyone who came out to support me today. Thank you to H-E-B for giving me the opportunity to work here and to show what I can do. It means a lot to be recognized like this. I’m honored and grateful for this celebration.”

Joining H-E-B in 1986, Flores has been a full-time driver for 33 years.

His dedication extends beyond his job, as he has used his trailer to assist people during Hurricane Harvey and Winter Storm Uri.

Driving is a family tradition, with Flores’ father, uncle, and several cousins also sharing the profession.

In 2019, another H-E-B truck driver also reached the four million mile mark without an accident, making history as the first to do so.

Flores finds joy in the tranquility of the open road, where he can relax and find peace.

Todd Wright, Senior Vice President of Transportation, praised Flores’ dedication and professionalism, stating,

“Day in and day out, he is hauling up to 80,000 pounds with a 53- or 57-foot trailer alongside other motorists. To do it safely traveling four million consecutive safe miles, without a single scrape or broken mirror, is a testament to his professionalism. We’re incredibly proud of Homer and all our drivers. We truly have the best team in all the industry.”
