  • The dog’s winter outfit and its owner were praised by other pet owners and animal lovers for the protection it gives to the dog.

Just like people, animals should also be fitted in winter clothes to avoid hypothermia and frostbite.

The adorable video quickly went viral with more than 9.1 million views.  The American pit bull’s outfit has viewers reacting! One user commented: “When you have to go outside in -30 but you aren’t a husky.”

Another user wrote: “The little hat, this just made my day” while @karrenaxoxo added that “it’s a fight to get my husky back home since he simply REFUSES wish I could dress him cute & warm like this!!”

TikTok user Sky Cameron summarizes everyone’s comments with: “Thank you so much for keeping your animal safe not a lot of people do or even know the environmental dangers for their pets while the seasons change.”

With temperatures in Alberta reaching as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius, the dog’s outfit is just right. As reported by HuskyAdvisor.com, huskies can withstand temperatures as cold as -60 degrees Fahrenheit (-51 degrees Celsius). They may have built up a tolerance for these very cold temperatures but they still feel the cold.

But they still need to be exposed outdoors and get exercise.  However, precautions should be taken to avoid hypothermia and frostbite.

Here are tips to keep them safe from the cold from the Animal Wellness Magazine:

  1. Time Outdoors Should Be Limited

If the outdoor temperature reaches minus 7 degrees Celsius or minus 70 degrees Fahrenheit, outdoor time should be limited to just a few minutes

  1. Yard Path Should Be Cleared

The cleared paths would facilitate comfortable potty breaks and prevent ice and snow from forming painful balls in between their paws.

  1. Pets Should Be Leashed

A leash would keep them near and prevent them from getting lost or wandering into hazards like frozen ponds.
