A comical cat introduced by TikTok user Caitlyn Davis (@caitlyn_davis34), has brightened up the internet with a video that captures its humorous attempt to snaffle a piece of forbidden food. The cat, cutely sprawled out on the table, is seen feigning deep sleep as it inches towards a food container lid in an amusingly stealthy act.

Initially, the feline seems to be merely stretching. However, a quick blink-and-you-miss-it action when it swiftly opens and closes its eyes tells a different story. Once its paw is suitably placed on the lid, it neatly pulls the lid closer to finally taste the covert snack it’s been longing for.

The internet users were amused by the cat’s sly trick. Within a week, the video has raked in an impressive 24.9 million views and received over 4.1 million likes on TikTok.

The caption accompanying the clip humorously read: “If I pretend to be asleep and move REAL slow, she won’t notice.”

Many pet owners can connect with the notion of indulging their cat’s craving for human food. As per pet health resource site, cats can be given human food as long it’s cooked meat due to its high nutritional value, while refraining from giving raw meat and bones.

Among cats, chicken, turkey, and fish are favorites for their high protein and low-calorie content. However, dairy products, onion, garlic, nuts, grapes, coffee, tea, alcohol, and chocolate are on the list of foods to avoid for cats, according to the pet health advice site.

The same resource site also advises that human food should only be an occasional reward and should supplement their regular diets instead of becoming a regular part of it.
