A rottweiler named Diesel has become an internet sensation, leaving viewers in stitches with his playful antics during his owner’s workout.

In a video shared on TikTok by @thesydneylauren_ this past June, the 75-pound dog is seen interrupting his owner’s exercise routine, attempting to join in, and then “catching the zoomies.” The hilarious clip shows Diesel darting back and forth across the room, while his owner tries to usher him out.

“POV you want to work out at home but you have a big puppy,” reads the caption accompanying the viral video.

For those unfamiliar, the zoomies are described as short, excessive bursts of energy that seem to come out of nowhere and then quickly dissipate.

According to the American Kennel Club, the technical term for the zoomies is frenetic random activity periods, or FRAPs. FRAPs occur due to a buildup of energy, which is then released in a frenetic surge.

This phenomenon is common after stressful events like vet visits or spotting another dog at the park. FRAPs can manifest in various forms, such as darting in circles around the yard or dashing up and down stairs.
