That’s what David Couture was reminiscing about, recently, when he shared with GNN a miraculous story from more than a decade ago. He moved into a townhouse in Dover, New Hampshire, that had a tiny washing machine, which caused him to seek out a laundromat nearby.

After finishing his laundry, David decided to grab dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. Little did he know that this ordinary choice would lead to an extraordinary encounter.

While enjoying his meal, David struck up a conversation with the waitress, a friendly woman named Linda. They chatted about life in the small town, and Linda mentioned her husband, a retired firefighter who had a passion for helping others.

David felt an instant connection with Linda’s warmth and sincerity. She invited him to meet her husband, Bob, and before long the two men became close friends.

“Bob became like a father figure to me,” David recalled. “He taught me so much about life, about service, and about being a good man.”
