After bravely facing several health struggles, Al Wilsey from Gilbert, Arizona, decided to spend his last days surrounded by loved ones and moments of joy. One of his most cherished routines was enjoying the food from his favorite spot, Nando’s Mexican Café.

When Al called Nando’s for his final meal, Ava Littau, who answered, sensed something meaningful in his voice.

“I was like, ‘That’s not a joke. Something in his voice, just maybe something spoke to me. And I was like, ‘He’s not joking. These are his final few days, and it’s up to us to make sure we do something about it, just to give him a smile or something, anything you know,” Ava told News 12.

Though the restaurant typically doesn’t deliver, general manager Kayla Bracamonte felt compelled to do so and included a touching note.

“Mr. Wilsey, we thank you for your loyalty throughout your years. We are saddened to hear about your situation. We wish you the best; you will be in our prayers. Dinner is on us. Love, Nando’s family,” it read.

Nando’s also covered the cost of the family’s dinner, a gesture that deeply moved Al’s wife, Roberta.

“I was blown away. I started crying, thinking he’s not even going to be able to eat this food,” she said.

Al savored every bite, and the meal became a cherished final memory for the family. His wife later reflected on the kindness they received.

“It was such a good reminder that there are good people in this world. And I…just couldn’t believe it,” Roberta said.
