The Missouri community is reflecting on the meaningful life of longtime sports journalist Ben Arnet, who passed away at 43. He served as sports director at KOMU, earning admiration for guiding and mentoring the next generation of journalists.

Ben Arnet’s enthusiasm for his profession and unwavering support for students left a positive mark on everyone he worked with.

“This is not easy news to report,” said KOMU news anchor Taylor Freeman.

His thoughtful leadership not only elevated sports coverage but also fostered teamwork and excellence among his colleagues.
