Golden Retrievers Get Starring Roles in Beautiful Wedding

When Jessica and Will Northrop were making the preparations for their wedding, they knew that their beloved golden retrievers had to be a part of their special day. So, they included Calvin and Kiwi in their wedding party — and they stole the show!

Sporting a navy tuxedo and red bow tie to match the groomsmen, the dashing Calvin served as ring bearer.

Kiwi, meanwhile, looked lovely with a flower collar. The pup with special needs also walked down the aisle with the help of a bridesmaid.

Calvin and Kiwi may have stolen the show and were the reason their wedding went viral, but the Northrops know that their goldens deserve all the love from around the world.

Calvin, a therapy dog, has not only brightened the days of hospital patients but also helped Jessica through difficult times.

Jessica considers Calvin as “a once in a lifetime dog… more than a dog or a pet.” This is why one of her favorite wedding photos is the one where he wears a sign that says, “I loved her first.”

“It really captured our whole story,” she added. “He is my friend and my teammate. I tell everyone that he is a part of my soul that I didn’t know I was missing. I will forever be grateful to Calvin for saving me and for giving me the confidence to eventually find my true soulmate, Will.”

Jessica said that she wanted Calvin to carry the rings in a basket, so they practiced diligently every night.

The couple also helped Kiwi, who has social anxiety, build up her confidence in the days leading to their special day.

It was plain to see that the Northrops treasured Calvin and Kiwi — they played starring roles in their parents’ special day!
