Grade 3 students’ acts of kindness create a ripple effect in Chilliwack

- For the last 7 years, third grade students at Watson Elementary School in British Columbia have been performing acts of kindness for strangers in Chilliwack as part of the Kindness Project.
- The project involves raising money by selling cupcakes, and then distributing flowers, chocolates, dog treats, coffee, and care packages to strangers at local parks.
- The project’s aim is to inspire a “wave of kindness” and has been successful in doing so, with strangers paying it forward and donating to the project.
A group of Grade 3 students at Watson Elementary School in British Columbia has been spreading kindness in their community for seven years through the Kindness Project.
The project involves raising funds by selling cupcakes and using the proceeds to give out flowers, chocolates, dog treats, coffee, and care packages to strangers in local parks. T
his year, five classes participated, making it the biggest project to date, and they raised $1,400.
The initiative’s goal is to inspire a ripple effect of kindness, which has proven successful with strangers paying it forward and donating to the project.
