  • The City of Wichita Falls Animal Services posted a photo of worker Zackry Majewski and a husky named Sky on Facebook.
  • The post intended to appreciate Zac during its employee appreciation week and share that Sky was up for adoption.
  • The post went viral, with commenters asking if Zac was single and also “looking for a forever home.”

A husky named Sky has ice-blue eyes, thick hair and lean muscles, so does a hunky animal care worker with him in the photo — likely the reason why the worker got more attention than the pup.

Last Wednesday, the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services posted a photo of the pair, in hopes to get Sky adopted and to appreciate animal shelter workers. That day was the turn of Zackry Majewski.

Apparently, Facebook users got more interested in the gorgeous animal care worker. But we can’t blame him, he’s got the looks. Plus, his love for dogs is just admirable. People who have seen the post were even curious if Zackry was available!

“Is Zac looking for a forever home too??” one commenter wrote on Facebook. “Is there actually a dog in this picture? I can’t find it …” another commented.

“We wanted to highlight [animal care officers] and also highlight a dog that we had available for adoption,” Nicki Bacon, an administrator at City of Wichita Falls Animal Services, told The Dodo.

Based on the appreciation post, Zackry “has a great compassion for the animals in our care. He is especially fond of huskies and can always be found snuggling with a puppy in the shelter. On his time off Zac enjoys hiking and listening to Country Music.”

Always been so passionate about animals, Zac even has a full-arm Husky tattoo.

Last October, he started working at the shelter with a dual role as a kennel technician and animal control officer.

“For about five weeks, he’s in the kennels helping to clean, feed, water and take the dogs out, play with them and care for the animals inside the shelter,” Nicki said. “And then for another five weeks, he’s out in the community, patrolling for any stray animals and taking calls for any cruelty cases we may have gotten.”

The post has brought excitement around Zac and led thousands of viewers to the shelter’s site. It has also steered Sky toward his forever home.

Nicki shared that they did not expect the post to go viral. Just the next morning, the post got around 500 comments.

“I brought him into the office and said, ‘I just wanted to let you know this is blowing up a little bit.’ And the next thing I know, it’s going into the thousands,” Nicki said. “He thought it was pretty funny. He’s the most humble guy. He said, ‘I’m just glad that the dogs are getting attention.’”

Last good news for those who were asking: oh yes, he’s very much single.
