- Bella Broadley and Elyse Partridge were having a picnic on the beach when they heard a woman’s cry for help. They quickly jumped into action and rescued two young girls who were caught in a riptide.
- The Governor General of Australia recognized Broadley and Partridge, along with 64 other Australians, for their acts of bravery.
Two teenage girls in Australia, Bella Broadley and Elyse Partridge, were enjoying a picnic on the beach when they heard a woman’s cry for help.
Without hesitation, they jumped into action and rescued two young girls who were caught in a riptide.
Despite the rough waters and fading daylight, Broadley and Partridge persevered and managed to guide the girls back to safety.
“Bystanders and police told Broadley and Partridge that without their help, the younger girls would likely not have survived,” according to ABC News.
For their bravery, Broadley and Partridge were awarded Bravery Medals by the Governor-General of Australia, along with 64 other Australians.
